Following Cody’s completion of the film, Julia Fox, star of Uncut Gems, met with Madonna in January 2022 to discuss the possibility of playing her lifelong friend, actress Debi Mazar, in the film.
The actress first met the performer in an elevator at the Danceteria nightclub in New York City in the 1980s.
However, Fox just disclosed that she is not working on the current version of the film. When Madonna said in July that she will resume work on the biopic once her Celebration tour ended.
She posted a picture of the screenplay page with the probable title, Who’s That Girl, scrawled at the top.
If the movie goes ahead with that title, it would be a direct reference to Madonna’s 1987 comedy and the same-titled No. 1-charting soundtrack song.
