Bella had her first operation to have a g-tube when she weighed only 7 pounds due to her condition. Eleanor Bahneman

Erik and Eliza were allowed to bring their Treacher Collins Syndrome baby home after they received the necessary training.

In addition to being her parents, my husband and I also served as her nurses. There have been a lot of unexpected events, such as many trips to the emergency room and choking incidents at home.

We have made tremendous progress, and I do not exaggerate. The training we got in the neonatal intensive care unit was invaluable; it allowed me to rescue my baby on many occasions.
