The combination of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo won. With 58.4 points per game, they are the NBA’s top scoring pair and are performing like the almost invincible unit.
That the Bucks’ front management had hoped for when they signed Lillard before to the 2023–24 campaign began. Lillard scored 15 of his 23 points on 5-for-10 3-point shooting.
When players like Lillard and Antetokounmpo perform at that level, the defense of an opponent is placed under tremendous strain.
“So proud of the group,” Antetokounmpo said. “Everyone felt really confined. We won this game because we were focused when we arrived and played excellent basketball. As a team, we set out to do this, and we succeeded.
The fact that Dame and I won our first prize together makes me very delighted. This is just the start. We will be better if we remain committed to developing and growing.
Following that 2-8 start, the Bucks utilized the NBA Cup to help salvage their season. Can they now build on this victory to go through the rest of the season?
