Sharks attacked and killed Tamayo Perry, a surfer and “Pirates of the Caribbean” actress.

Perry gave his all in serving our community, displaying courage, devotion, and a strong sense of responsibility.

We shall never forget his courageous deeds and his dogged pursuit of protecting our citizens and tourists, Blangiardi said.

Just before 1 p.m. local time on June 23, the Honolulu Emergency Services Department released a statement stating that a surfer was “fatally injured” in a shark attack near Goat Island.

Multiple bite wounds were reported on the surfer’s body by the individual who phoned the emergency services.

Officials reported that lifeguards hauled his corpse onshore on a Jet Ski, and that EMS personnel confirmed him dead at the site. It was verified by Ocean Safety that the surfer was named Perry.
