The FBI says that the suspect in the terrorist incident in New Orleans that claimed the lives of at least ten people was flagged by ISIS.

A person has been identified who is suspected of carrying out a terrorist assault in New Orleans that left at least ten people dead and over thirty injured.

On New Orleans’ Bourbon Street, a guy in a pickup truck drove past the barriers and “intentionally” crashed into the throng, destroying the revellers who were celebrating the New Year.

After exiting the car, the guy engaged in gunfire with police, wounding two policemen who were subsequently found to be in stable condition. Law enforcement then shot the suspect dead.

NBC News first identified the culprit as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, and police verified that he had been shot dead.

Additionally, the FBI issued a statement verifying that the suspect, a Texas-born US citizen, was in possession of an ISIS flag.
