The “loneliest gorilla in the world” will spend her 41st Christmas in a zoo cage in a retail center.

 

There are kept in pathetically tiny, desolate cages and aren’t allowed access to sunlight, fresh air, or activities that they find significant.

Since 1983, Bua has been held captive inside the Bangkok zoo, which is housed on the sixth and seventh floors of the Pata Pinklao Department Store.

In the past, the nation’s environment minister expressed his desire to have Bua Noi moved to a sanctuary.

His secretary did, however, tell the media: “We have previously organized events to collect money and advocate for Bua Noi’s release. “The fans of Bua Noi sent us contributions. However, the owner’s refusal to sell Bua Noi is the issue.

“The price is too high when he finally agrees to sell her. Since Bua Noi is regarded as private property, we are unable to take her away.
