The owner of the bakery disputes Whoopi Goldberg’s assertion that they “refused” to provide a birthday dessert because of her “politics.”

The bakery’s owner, Jill Holtermann, told EW that “it was not because of political” associations but rather that “we were having trouble with our boilers.” Holtermann’s has now refuted the allegations.

According to Holtermann, the co-host of The View first requested goodies for her birthday broadcast and a talk show appearance on November 6, but the baker declined because she “didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t carry through.”

She told the site, “I told Whoopi that I couldn’t do it at this time.” “We have so many things going on with my boiler,’ because the building is from 1930, so, when she called me, I had no idea [if we could] be baking everything.”

The proprietor of the bakery also confirmed Goldberg’s assertion that on the morning of November 13, a lady who neither named came to pick up around fifty Charlotte Russe sweets, which the owner was eventually able to create in spite of the boiler issues.

She also denied to EW that she knew the woman’s identity or that she was connected to either Goldberg or The View.
