The Tony-winning Broadway actress Linda Lavin, who appeared in the comedy Alice, passes away at the age of 87.

 

She portrayed the grandma of Jennifer Lopez in “The Back-Up Plan.” Lavin emphasised one point when asking aspiring actresses for advice.

“I would say that my experience was that labour attracts work. In 2011, she told the Associated Press, “I did it as long as it wasn’t morally repugnant to me.”

In Wilmington, North Carolina, she and her third husband, musician and artist Steve Bakunas, transformed an abandoned car garage into the 50-seat Red Barn Studio Theatre.

In 2013, she made a comeback to television with the one-season series “Sean Saves the World,” which starred Sean Hayes from “Will & Grace.” Lavin also appeared in “9JKL” and “Mom.”
