Tragic incident: swimmer goes missing at CrossFit Games and later discovers dead

During yesterday morning’s (August 8) swimming contest on Marine Creek Lake, close to Fort Worth, Texas, Lazar Dukic did not resurface 100 meters from the finish line.

The 28-year-old Serbian man went under the water and hasn’t been seen since, according to emergency services in Fort Worth.

Arrival to the games was requested at around 8am local time, and the recovery of Dukic’s corpse took just one hour.

After being temporarily halted and feared to be canceled so that organizers could “fully cooperate with authorities,” the CrossFit Games will resume this morning, August 9.
