TORONTO — Justin Trudeau, the embattled prime minister of Canada, will rearrange his Cabinet on Friday.
Trudeau will attend the swearing-in ceremony and preside over a meeting with his new Cabinet later on Friday, the prime minister’s office said late Thursday.
The sudden resignation of his finance minister on Monday may be too much for Trudeau to handle, as he is already dealing with growing dissatisfaction about his leadership.
New Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc said Thursday that Trudeau had the “full support of his Cabinet,” despite an increasing number of Liberal parliamentarians demanding his resignation.
According to LeBlanc, he respects the opinions of Liberal parliamentarians who call for Trudeau’s resignation.
They are expressing their opinion. When that opinion was presented to the prime minister, he paid close attention,” LeBlanc added.
