Two Men Died After Using Bat Poop to Fertilize Weed Plants

Tragically, histoplasmosis—a lung illness brought on by breathing spores from the Histoplasma capsulatum fungus.

Which is often found in bat feces—killed two men who were cultivating marijuana in Rochester, New York.

The two guys, aged sixty-nine and sixty-four, fertilized their cannabis plants with bat guano, often known as bat excrement.

Bat guano is a superfood for plants since it is full of nutrients that cause plants to flourish wildly. The 59-year-old guy had used marijuana and tobacco for a long period and was struggling with emphysema.

For many months, he lost weight as a result of his breathing difficulties. When he was eventually brought to Strong Memorial Hospital, medical professionals found a lump on his larynx that they first thought may be cancer.

They concluded that the mass was histoplasmosis after further testing. The patient passed away shortly after the physicians attempted to treat it.
