Florida’s West Palm Beach — In time for Christmas Eve, Athena arrived home to her family in Florida after a search that lasted over a week. She even rang the doorbell.
After Athena, a 4-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix, ran away from her Green Cove Springs, Florida, home on December 15,
The neighbourhood and other towns began searching for her. According to Brooke Comer, her owner, her family departed for church that day,
And she received a message from her neighbour outside the home with a photo of Athena. Comer went into a panic. When her family arrived home in a hurry,
They discovered her collar in the container with no obvious escape route. It’s still unclear how she got away. Comer described the events of the next week as a “unbelievable” tale,
With neighbours and locals from other towns contacting her via her missing dog advertising and sending any pictures or videos they may have taken of Athena.
