One person died and two others were seriously injured in the incident that happened during Trump’s rally address.
Trump flew to Newark Liberty International Airport on Trump Force One after receiving medical attention at a hospital in Pennsylvania.
The White House stated that President Joe Biden spoke with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Butler Mayor Bob Dandoy about the assault, and Trump was called by Biden soon after.
This happened days before Trump was expected to be nominated at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee,
and it is the first major attempt on the life of a president or presidential contender since the 1981 murder attempt on Ronald Reagan.
