According to the inquest, Mr. Mason’s behavior worsened in the last weeks of Gunner Beck’s life and culminated on December 7 during a training exercise in Newbury.
Bombardier Young reported at the hearing that Gunner Beck, who was “trembling, crying, and in shock,” had called him.
He revealed: “She said that being around Ryan had become too much for her to handle.
In terms of what was being said, the behavior’s intensity had significantly increased. I believe he had also attempted to knock on the door of her hotel room.
Gunner Beck was discovered dead in her chamber a few days later. According to the inquest, some of her death was caused by the army’s inaction following the senior sergeant’s attack.
After the army did nothing to address the sexual assault she was having, Beck made the decision to end her own life.
