More than ten years after a botched medical procedure resulted in the amputation of both of her legs, a Georgia teacher has been granted a $70 million payment.
When Jessica Powell unexpectedly passed out in her home in 2013 due to a gastrointestinal infection and hormone deficient disorder, her life took a drastic turn.
She was sent to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany for life-saving medical assistance as a result of the incident, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
