After having supper at Yu Young Um’s house in Glasgow’s Hyndland neighborhood, one doctor claimed he felt “shocked and betrayed” when he was seen on camera using the restroom.
Over the course of three months, nine recordings were taken of another person taking a shower and using the restroom.
Ju Young Um claimed that it took him 20 years after receiving a potential gigantism diagnosis to seek medical attention.
His lawyer told the sentencing panel that his client knew the “harm and distress he has caused his victims” and that his offenses were “morally wrong.” He was later suspended from his position as a doctor.
Sheriff Owen Mullan informed Ju Young Um that because of the “shock and distress suffered by victims,” his acts qualified for a jail sentence.
Police Scotland’s Detective Sergeant Cameron Gilchrist stated: “Ju Young Um is now dealing with the fallout from his heinous and upsetting acts.”
