Mr. Wells went on to say: “Miss Lanning’s actions constituted serious misconduct that was well below the standards expected of the profession.
Especially considering that she had acted in a way that the panel determined was sexually motivated in response to her feelings for a student.”
Lanning was permanently barred from teaching in England and is not eligible to reapply for the register.
“I am particularly mindful of the finding of a teacher sending naked photographs of herself to a pupil in this case and the very negative impact that such a finding is likely to have on the reputation of the profession.”
Concluded civil servant Marc Cavey, who signed off on the ban on behalf of Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.
