On the day of Lady Di’s untimely death, Craker went to Balmoral with Harry and William. On the day of their mother’s funeral, he also followed them.
William looked up and recognized me as I stood at the back of the hearse. I nodded as I turned to face him. “Being with his mother on her last journey gave him comfort,” William told The New York Post.
People were crying, crossing themselves on their knees, and flinging flowers at the hearse.
“What astounded me was that even the southbound traffic had stopped when we entered the northbound M1, and people were getting out of their cars and bowing respectfully.”
Craker recollected those depressing times in the past, stating that the most poignant experience was meeting Prince William the morning following his mother’s funeral.
