In relation to the occurrences, a 49-year-old male has been taken into custody on suspicion of assault and attempted murder.
Since then, he has also been detained after being apprehended on suspicion of murder.
The Major Incident Team of Greater Manchester Police has verified that the incidents are not being considered terrorism-related and is now investigating the case.
Additionally, the force emphasized that the deadly collision was completely unrelated to a significant counterterrorism operation that happened in Rochdale later on Saturday night.
