Has proposed Mace’s measure as an amendment to the Laken Riley Act, which is now being considered by the upper house. The bill is now on its way to the Senate.

Democratic MPs vehemently opposed Mace’s plan, which would have required the deportation of illegal migrants who commit sexual assault.

They claimed that the bill would also result in the deportation of foreign nationals or illegal migrants who are victims of domestic abuse.
