A month after being imprisoned for the death of his daughter, Liam Deane was discovered dead. After Deane’s body was found, inmate John Westland reportedly killed her and showed up in court.
After confessing to beating and shaking his 2-day-old daughter Luna because she “would not stop crying,” Deane was charged and imprisoned.
Luna suffered brain damage and passed away three days later. For the murder, he received a life sentence.
In court at the time, the prosecution stated, “[Deane] said he was responsible for all of the injuries that she had suffered and he said that Luna had not settled down and he lost control,” according to Mirror.
At the time, Richard Wright, Deane’s attorney in Leeds, England, stated, “In my submission, there is simply no explanation for the defendant’s [behavior].”
“His behavior was completely and completely inconsistent with his character. The defendant will have plenty of time to think back on his awful [doing].
