A “catastrophic” 11-bike incident at the British Superbikes Championship claims the lives of two riders.

 

After winning 18 of 20 race finishes, the youngster from Crowborough, East Sussex, was named the 2024 British GP2 champion and signed with Rapid Honda.

Sadly, Richardson, rider number 28, passed away while being transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital after being admitted to the medical center with “severe chest injuries.”

The Astro JJR HIPPO Suzuki team included the New Zealander.

Tom Tunstall, 47, was a third contestant who was taken to the hospital for additional care after suffering “significant back and abdominal injuries” during the dangerous pile-up.

Three motorcyclists survived the tragedy unharmed, while five others who had minor injuries were treated in the medical center.

Police in Cheshire are looking into a crash. The inquiry into the event has been started by Cheshire Police, who stated that they will be collaborating with the coroner and racing authorities.

“Police are investigating two deaths on behalf of the coroner following a multiple collision at Oulton Park this afternoon,” the police said.
