A “catastrophic” multi-bike incident at the British Superbikes Championship has sadly claimed the lives of two riders.

Shane Richardson, 29, and Owen Jenner, 21, were both killed in the horrific collision that occurred during Monday’s Quattro

Group British Supersport Championship event at Oulton Park.A tragic chain reaction started when one rider

lost control and skidded into other riders’ paths. As medics raced to the scene, eleven riders fell, many bikes clashed, and one even caught fire.

Medical personnel on the track were sent out right away. After receiving on-scene medical attention, Jenner, rider #86 from Crowborough, East Sussex, was transported to the circuit’s medical facility.

Before he could be taken to the hospital, he tragically passed away from a “catastrophic head injury.” New Zealand-born #28
