A Christmas carnival attraction in Birmingham “collapses” as emergency personnel race to the scene.

According to reports, a ride at a Christmas carnival “collapsed” as rescuers race to the site. The area around one of the rides in Birmingham’s Centenary Square has been cordoned off by police.

According to the police, paramedics are treating a “small number” of persons at the site; no significant injuries have been recorded.

It is believed that the attraction at the heart of the disaster is the 55-meter-tall Star Flyer. Online images seem to show two Star Flyer seats entangled together.

The rollercoaster spins visitors around on wires after hoisting them to the summit of its tower.

At the moment, there are six emergency services vehicles on the site, along with police, fire, and paramedic personnel.
