A couple is accused of beating a five-year-old over homework because they were upset and “colored outside the lines.”

According to the police, the child was punished with cold baths and had his arms and legs duct-taped.

They also allegedly body-slammed, choked, slapped, and punched the child. The statement said that the 5-year-old was “coloring outside the lines on his homework,” which is why all of this mistreatment took place.

As if that weren’t awful enough, the couple allegedly held the infant by the ankles, according to the police. They allegedly then repeatedly slammed his head on the floor.

According to the police statement, the youngster was also “subjected to torture, cruel confinement, and cruel punishment while in their care.”

Ricky and Nichole North are charged with strangulation, criminal abuse, tampering with physical evidence, and neglecting to report child dependent abuse or neglect.

Public documents The couple is being jailed at the Bell County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond, according to information gathered.
