A cruise that abandoned a family of nine in remote Alaska charged them $9,000 and left them alone.

 

In order to meet the ship, they had to make up a new schedule. After the public voiced their disapproval, Norwegian partly reimbursed their costs.

There has been an uptick in criticism of the strict policy of abandoning tardy passengers. Huge individual expenses are usually incurred by passengers who do not make it aboard the boat.

Royal Caribbean charges stranded families a fee.  The mayhem intensified. A $9,000 charge was levied by Norwegian Cruise Lines.

The fine was imposed because they inadvertently broke a US Customs statute by failing to arrive at their destination port.

The Gaults were left with a colossal debt after spending $30,000 on the vacation. They couldn’t have made it to Canada to meet the ship without their passports.
