A death row convict who made a cruel “mistake” with their last meal endured a “painful” execution.

An ‘excruciating’ execution was the result of a man who had been on death row since 2004 making a cruel’mistake’ with his final supper.

In 1998, Wesley Ira Purkey was convicted of raping and killing 16-year-old Jennifer Long.On January 22 of that year, the victim was last spotted at East High

School in Kansas City, Missouri, as worries increased after the teenager vanished from the classroom.

Before he drove her back to his house, Purkey had enticed Long into his car, where he allegedly fatally stabbed her and used a chainsaw to cut her body to pieces.

The murderer allegedly dumped her remains in a septic pond near Clearwater, Kansas, after burning her body in a fireplace.
