Molly and her father Thomas were later found guilty of second-degree murder and given heavy prison terms.
The two, however, insisted that Jason’s death was due to “self-defense,” saying that Jason had threatened to kill Molly.
They appealed the initial decision, and after a successful appeal, they were given reduced manslaughter sentences.
They were given prison terms ranging from 51 to 74 months, and they were freed in June 2024.
Jack, Jason’s kid, states in the documentary’s trailer: “I never saw my dad ever lay hands on Molly.” Nonetheless, Thomas implies that he has ‘no regrets’ about what he did.
