The family of a father who was eaten by sharks off the coast of Israel disclosed how he tried to repel the animals during the attack by using a Go-Pro device.
On Monday, 40-year-old Barak Tzach chose to go fishing on Olga Beach in Hadera when he was heading home from work.
However, after swimming out into the sea, the father of four was viciously mauled by sharks, and his last moments were captured on camera as he struggled in the water.
To find the man from Petah Tikav, police and emergency services launched a massive search operation that included the deployment of rescue units, aviation and naval troops, and more.
His remains were found on Tuesday night, but his family was devastated when the body was eventually confirmed as Tzach by the authorities.
After his identity was confirmed, Tzach’s family responded to speculation about how he died, stating that he had gone to the beach with nothing except a mask, snorkel, fins, and a GoPro camera—no bait or fish.
