An Alabama high school kid who had a medical issue during football practice has passed away. On Thursday, August 15,
the Coffee County School System in Alabama confirmed via social media that Tuesday, August 13, was the death of Semaj Wilkins,
a student at New Brockton High School. Football player Wilkins had a “medical emergency,” according to the county coroner’s office, and was sent to the hospital prior to his away.
The Coffee County School System released a statement saying, “Semaj was a young man who brought joy and
inspiration to his peers, teammates, coaches, and faculty members.” “Everyone who knew him will be deeply saddened by his passing.”
The district attorney’s office and the sheriff’s office are looking into the event, according to the Coffee County Coroner’s Office.
