According to the Union-Tribune, prosecutors disclosed that Ma began a physical contact with the 12-year-old girl in late 2022 after communicating with her via video game chat rooms and a family tablet.
According to reports, the boy’s parents forbade him from owning mobile devices or using social media.
Investigators found, however, that Ma was able to access him by setting up an unofficial after-school program and corresponding with him via a chat software that was permitted by the school.
The texts were found by the boy’s parents a few months later, and they quickly turned into important evidence against Ma.
When the victim didn’t reply to the texts promptly, the former instructor grew irate with him. Additionally, investigators discovered pornographic photographs in its contents.
Detectives read aloud the communications between the two during a court in December 2023, during which Ma declared her love for the youngster, according to The San Diego Tribune.
