Watson abruptly veers to the right in what seems to be a deliberate attempt to strike Bailey as he idly bounces away from his conquest. As a number of others rush to his rescue,
She runs him down with her SUV. After that, a group of irate demonstrators attacks the car once again but is driven away before they can do any more harm.
Following his arrest, Watson was accused of assault and dangerous driving. She could have faced up to two years in jail for the assault accusation,
But amazingly, a jury ruled her not guilty. She was nonetheless found guilty of misdemeanor careless driving, which carries a maximum fine of $300 and a prison sentence of 10 to 90 days.
Given that he feels he done nothing wrong, Bailey is probably not very pleased with the jury’s verdict. He really says that he just got inside Watson’s car in an attempt.
