Adam’s cranium now has 15% “plastic” in it. Doctors had to remove the oil-contaminated portion of the tourist’s brain after he was taken to the hospital and immediately put into emergency surgery.
Adam explains that after the life-saving procedure, doctors weren’t very hopeful about his future and that 15% of his skull is now “made of plastic.”
He was told that he would never come out of his coma and that even if he did, he would probably be paralyzed or in a vegetative condition. His
parents had flown from the United States to be by his bedside.”In my ideal situation, I would be paralyzed.”
“They gave them so many scenarios – one was that I’d be [incapacitated] for the rest of my life, and in the best-case scenario, I would be paralysed,” Adam stated.
