Every hospital in the area has been informed. Two of the most badly injured have been transported by helicopter after multiple trauma alarms were issued, the report stated.
Social media videos showed multiple first responders racing to the site while their lights flashed. Drivers were cautioned by police to stay off the Memorial Causeway.
The collision will be looked into by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and the US Coast Guard.
One witness reported that ten ambulances and four helicopters were present at the location of last night’s collision.
Due to the boat driver’s escape from the scene, appeals have been made to learn more about them.
