“We believe the boat responsible for hitting the ferry left the scene immediately, and we believe our law enforcement partners are at another location with that boat right now,.”
Rob Shaw of the City of Clearwater told ABC Action News. “However, we are still asking anybody who has information, anyone who witnessed anything, or anyone who may have any video to contact us.”
According to Shaw, two crew members were among the forty-five passengers on the ferry when it crashed.
Brenda Alvarez, who is thirty-one weeks pregnant, was on the ferry. Since the incident, she claims she hasn’t felt her unborn child move.
We’re really going to the hospital right now to get checked because I’m a little frightened since I haven’t felt the baby move, which is really worrisome, and I fell between two seats.
And my entire body hurts right now,” the worried mother stated. Our only goal was to reach our vehicles and return home. On the ferry with her were her two little children, ages one and three.
