Police have previously dealt with the family, according to Mr. Marchesini, but he would not provide any other information.
“It was definitely not a location where police frequently visited,” he stated. As part of their ongoing investigation, police have spoken with neighbors and released an information request.
Premier David Crisafulli of Queensland said the incident was “unfathomable and horrific” and that the community was “reeling” from it.
“We thank the neighbors and first responders who hurried to help, and we send our thoughts and prayers to the people of Toowoomba,” Mr. Crisafulli added.
“This tragedy needs to be thoroughly investigated, and we’ll make sure it happens.”
