A nightclub’s roof collapses, killing at least 98 people, including two former Major League Baseball stars.

Both players were there at the nightclub when it collapsed, according to confirmation from the Dominican authorities.

According to his family, Rubby Pérez, one of the most well-known merengue singers in the Caribbean, was also among the deceased.

Pérez was retrieved from the debris, but he did not survive, according to his manager, Enrique Paulino, who had blood on his shirt.

Paulino said that the saxophone for the ensemble was one of the people who were crushed to death. Inside the nightclub, people were seen dancing and seated at tables while Pérez played.

A individual close to the stage pointed up and said, “something fell from the ceiling,” in one of the BBC’s clips. Pérez is seen gazing in the direction of the location.
