A paralysed survivor talks on his experience in New Orleans, saying, “I’m glad to be alive, man.”

He said that at first he believed it to be an explosion. “Someone was yelling behind me, and I turned around and heard a loud noise,” stated the man.

“The next thing I remember, I was laying on the ground, and my leg was all floppy, like it was broken,” claimed the man.

“I was using my hand to raise my leg. I had no idea what was happening, and it seemed like the components were being bent.”

His location on the ground may have saved his life when the shooter started shooting at onlookers, even though the fall damaged many bones and eventually needed hours of surgery.

“I kept thinking, ‘I hope I’m out of the way from the gunshots,’ when I heard it. He said, “I hope I’m low enough on the ground that I wasn’t in the line of fire.”

Sensky, who was still on the ground when the gunfire stopped, described how he was “screaming as loud as [he] could”
