After being taken from Bourbon Street to University Medical Centre for hours of surgery, he finally gave gratitude to emergency personnel and medical personnel for saving his life.

He said that he had trouble recalling the specifics of that night’s events, even after he woke up from surgery. “To be honest, I had no idea what the heck was going on the whole time.

I just had no idea. I was unaware that anything had struck me. It sounded like an explosion to me. He said, “I thought something blew up.”

Sensky said he felt “lucky” to have survived the assault and to be with his family again despite his injuries.
