According to the Portland Press Herald, Nkurunziza was permitted to post $500 cash bail with supervised release despite turning 18. After having an ankle monitor installed, the teenager was still
Permitted to go to school. But the teenager made more requests in spite of the court’s previous forbearance.
Nkurunziza claimed that his bail requirements were excessively stringent and asked Judge Rick Lawrence to relax them.
The teenager requested that his electronic ankle monitor be taken away since he finds it difficult to find the time to charge it because he spends the majority of the day at school.
Additionally, he expressed dissatisfaction with the device’s impact on his ability to find employment, claiming that it would be simpler if his home arrest was also dropped.
