A startling quantity of microplastics is being released into your beverages by your tea bags.

As I’ve said before, is anything secure these days? Microplastics are now making an unsightly appearance in our beloved tea bags. Even a soothing cup of Earl Grey cannot.

Be enjoyed without raising concerns about potential health hazards. According to a research published in December by the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain,

The boiling water from steeping tea bags releases billions of microplastic particles into the tea you are about to consume.

The study examined a variety of materials, including cellulose, nylon-6, and polypropylene. It made no difference; they are all awful. The worst was polypropylene,

Which released 1.2 billion particles per millilitre. For what it’s worth, the other two were worth millions. Does it really make a difference? In either case, we’re merely ingesting harmful stuff.

Tea bags are found to contain microplastics. The dangers of microplastics have lately gained a lot of attention.
