After being held captive and allegedly subjected to abuse by her mother and stepfather for seven years, a teenage girl somehow managed to escape from a home of horrors.
With the assistance of a neighbor, the 18-year-old girl managed to break out of her captivity on May 8 from the suburban home in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.
After being let free, she spoke to police about the terrible circumstances she had been living in since her 38-year-old mother, Brenda Spencer, pulled her from school in 2018.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, she was allegedly made to live in a padlocked bathroom while being tied up after being pulled out of the sixth grade.
The victim also reported to the police that Branndon Mosley, her 41-year-old stepfather, beat her with a belt and sexually assaulted her for years.
While the girl’s hands were bound, he allegedly denied her nourishment and sexually assaulted her.
