Mosley is also charged with sexual assault and putting a child’s welfare at risk through sexual contact.
Mosley was a train conductor, and Spencer was apparently unemployed. Both of them are awaiting detention hearings after being placed in jail.
At a press conference, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay told reporters, “What this young woman survived was absolutely horrific.”
“The girl suffered ‘heinous, years-long torture,’ which went unnoticed because she was homeschooled,” MacAulay continued.
The ‘flaws’ in the school system that let the abuse to continue for seven years were highlighted by the county prosecutor.
Homeschooling might be the best option for certain families, but in this instance, it helped conceal the terrible mistreatment, she claimed.
