A university student was killed by a brownie that her friend gave her.

According to her father, David Glass, the use of roasted peanut flour—which is different from the more familiar oily peanut butter—probably concealed the peanuts’ presence so Hannah wouldn’t notice them.

Quick onset of the Brownie’s deadly reaction

Hannah felt something was wrong shortly after taking a second taste. She took Benadryl in the hopes of easing the symptoms after experiencing hives and vomiting.

But things quickly became worse for her. She lost consciousness due to a collapsed lung as she was lying down to rest.

Her heart stopped for four minutes even after paramedics quickly intervened and administered her EpiPen.

After being taken to Watertown Hospital, she was then moved to Froedtert Hospital and put on a ventilator.

After her 28-year-old daughter passes away, a distraught mother issues an urgent energy drink warning.

‘I think that they couldn’t have survived losing each other,’ says the wife, who is grieving for her husband and daughter, who were killed in a motorcycle accident.
