A schizophrenic lady who had been dead in her flat for almost three and a half years was discovered in a “mummified” and “skeletal state”.
The family of 38-year-old Laura Winham claims that she was “abandoned and left to die” as a result of the National Health Service (NHS), the publicly financed healthcare system in the United Kingdom, failing to provide proper treatment.
Additionally, according to BBC News, they claim that she was let down by social services prior to her brother discovering her remains in May 2021.
Despite being sent to social care twice in the years before, it is thought that she died away in November 2017.
Laura was cut off from her family and resided in government-subsidized apartments in Surrey, United Kingdom.
