(TCN) COTTAGE GROVE, WI One day after entering a not guilty plea, a 49-year-old man was discovered dead in his jail cell.
The guy allegedly drove into a family, murdering a mother and dog in an apparent act of retaliation.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Landmark Drive on the evening of April 28 after receiving a report of a collision involving an automobile and pedestrians, according to the Cottage Grove Police Department.
A dog passed away on the spot, and three people were taken to hospitals. Two of the patients were treated and released from the hospital, while one, Dr. Kami Hansen, passed away from her wounds.
First-degree reckless homicide, first-degree reckless injury, and first-degree willfully endangering safety were the allegations against driver Jeffrey Endres when he was taken into custody by police on May 1.
According to WMTV-TV, Later, the accusation of reckless homicide was changed to intentional homicide.
Dane County Deputy District Attorney William Brown stated during Endres’ court appearance on Tuesday, May 5, that the collision “was not an accident.”
