Naturally, Southern Kitchen & Bar has provided a quite different account of the incident, stating in a statement on the restaurant’s Facebook page that Bonner’s top was “not consistent with our appropriate attire policy.”
However, the restaurant did apologize, stating that the “attempt to follow company policy was ill-timed” because employees did not question Bonner when she initially arrived at the restaurant, but rather after she had sat down.
However, Bonner was unimpressed and rejected the apologies.
As I previously stated, the ostensible “apology” statement for the moment I was challenged with a nonexistent dress code goes as follows: In response to the restaurant’s comment, Bonner wrote, “LAUGHABLE.”
She urged people to flood the company with bad ratings rather than extending forgiveness. The removal of the establishment’s Yelp page suggests that it was also successful.
