The judge denied lowering her bail from $350,000 to $50,000 during her bail hearing earlier this month. While waiting for her next hearing, Ketcham took her own life.
Stephen Doyle, Ketcham’s lawyer, said that because of her business stake, his client posed no risk of fleeing and that if she was granted bail,
She would be able to go to therapy sessions. If Ketcham had been found guilty of the allegations against her, she would have been sentenced to decades in prison.
