In October 2021, Sarah saw a copy of her medical records detailing the surgery she had undergone to repair damage caused by the abuse.
She had no memory of the incident but was shocked to learn that her father had lied to doctors about her injuries.
“The doctors believed his story, and it wasn’t challenged,” she said. “But when I saw my medical records, I realized how important that information was in bringing charges.”
Sadly, Sarah’s mother passed away before the trial, and Sarah was never able to ask her any questions about the abuse.
In June 2022, Arthur William Bowditch and Arthur Stephen Bowditch were sentenced in Swansea Crown Court for their crimes.
