She has been diagnosed with PTSD and Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder due to the abuse and the emotional toll of the investigation. However, Sarah encourages other victims to come forward.
“I want other victims to know you can get justice,” she said. “Don’t be afraid or ashamed. It is possible, no matter how long you have carried these secrets.”
After remaining silent for nearly 50 years, Sarah now uses her voice to advocate for change. She advises both the police and the CPS on the best ways to help victims of abuse and is dedicated to making the system better.
